Architects love to play : if you look to the colonnas from a specific place, you don't see the free ranks of collonas but only one rank...
It took 120 years to build Saint Pierre's Church, 20 popes, 10 architects (among them was Michel-Angelo and Le Bernin)... and after that we complain about computer science projects !
There are 250 statues, 500 colonnas, 50 altars inside... and 60 000 people can stand inside.
The church is 211 meters long and you can see marks on the ground showing the size of other worldwide famous (smaller ;) ) churches...
And Vatican is also famous for its museum, full of Raphael's or The Caravage's work... only unknown persons ! ;)
And be careful not to get a stiff neck when looking at the Sixtine Chapel...
Did I get shorter, or did they built this church for giants ?
The baldaquin among the altar is 29 meters high, for example !
